What should I remember about dealing with dependants?

As a wife of a sailor, and daughter of a retired career Army man, I have seen over the years how dependants are treated by the military. When dealing with dependants and spouses please remember that this may be new to them ... deployments, pay issues, loss of W2, whatever problems they may be dealing with you may or may not be aware of. A little courtesy goes a long way in any branch of service in any day to day event.
